Giving Back to the Community

For this years’ holiday season, MC&A’s Hawaii office focused on the importance of giving back to its ‘aina (land and its people) by participating in a community service project. The DMC literally brightened up the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii with paint brushes, building materials, landscaping tools, holiday decorations and warm smiles.

The Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii is an after-school safe place for children and youth in the community who, under positive adult supervision, can develop opportunities, good character and a healthy lifestyle via enriching programs.

Team MC&A cleaned and decorated the clubhouse’s Teen Center, Media Room and living area, painted a colorful mural, cared for the vegetable garden and built brand new picnic tables – while volunteers baked fresh cookies in the kitchen. The gym was also decorated for the annual Ohana Night while the team set up and manned the carnival games.

The work was hard, but definitely rewarding for the team once they saw the smiles of the kids and their families once they arrived to the refreshed facilities.

As companies, let’s try to give back to our communities – not only during the festive season, but all year long.

Happy Holidays!
